Each voyage features fascinating lectures, interactive workshops, cultural performances and memorable shore excursions to explore your destination through the lens of photography, culture, nature and port-to-table culinary experiences. Maasdam’s size also gives her access to many new and off-the-beaten-path ports of call, allowing you to delve deeper into the places and cultures you visit. And being the only Holland America Line ship outfitted with nimble, inflatable Zodiacs, on select port calls you can go further in depth to explore nature, history, culture and more with these agile boats.

On board all Holland America Line liners, there are free children's miniclubs where you can leave your children (from 3 to 17 years old) under the supervision of tutors. For children, special programs have been developed for three age groups:
Club HAL- Kids: for children aged 3 to 7 years, where children are engaged in drawing, puzzles, treasure hunt, pizza and ice cream holidays.
Club HAL-Teens: - for children aged 8 to 12 years. In this club for children prepared all sorts of video games, table football, karaoke, Sony Play Station, discos.
Club HAL works not only during the daytime, but also in the evening so that parents have the opportunity to enjoy the evening activities on board the ship. Visiting the club from 22 to 24 hours paid - $ 5 per hour per child.
The Loft and The Oasis: for teenagers aged from 13 to 17 years:
The Loft: you can listen to the music, watch clips of popular artists, surf the Internet, play video games and sing karaoke.
The Oasis: is an open deck only for teens, with a three-meter waterfall, eateries and the latest stereo system. There is also a laser show on the dance floor. Oasis Club is not on Vista class liners.
The program of events for everyday, is published in a special mini brochure, which is delivered to the cabin on the evening before the next day. Entertainment programs on the ship are varied depending on the route of the ship and seasonality: karaoke, dance classes with coaches, special lectures on various educational topics, sales of jewelry and goods, and much more.
Meals on the ship are organized on "all inclusive" system (except for alcoholic beverages).

Cabin service: All liners on the Holland America Line provide free 24-hour cabin meals.
Special meals: you can order a special diet food: vegetarian, diabetic or gluten-free dishes, but provided that the request will be made at least 3 months before the start of the cruise. A kosher menu is also available on request.
The cruise company recommends to have three types of clothing during the trip:
for recreation and sports (casual);
clothes and shoes for excursions, depending on the season and route features (sport and casual);
elegant clothes for evening visits to restaurants and evening events: shows, casinos, clubs, bars (smart casual "more strict" and formal "strict").
During the evening events, the cruise company does not welcome a beach clothes.
