We recommend flying in the day before the cruise begins.
The Cruise Center catalogue lists 535+ cruises from the port of Naples for 2026–2027. The only regular operator is MSC Cruises (plus the premium MSC Yacht Club brand aboard MSC Meraviglia, MSC Divina, and MSC World Europa).
A 3-night mini-cruise (Naples → Livorno → Marseille → Barcelona) starts at €139 per person on MSC Meraviglia. A standard 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise from €609. A Greek Islands & Turkey cruise from €769. Premium MSC Yacht Club from €1,939. Port charges (~€80–150) and service charge (~€10–15 per day) are not included.
MSC Cruises is the only line with regular cruises from Naples. The ships MSC Meraviglia, MSC Divina, and MSC World Europa operate from the port in standard configuration and in the premium MSC Yacht Club configuration. Other lines (Costa, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean) call at Naples as a port of call but don’t depart from it.
Two main destinations. Western Mediterranean (7 nights): Naples → Livorno (Florence, Pisa) → Marseille → Barcelona → La Goulette (Tunisia) → Palermo → Naples. Greek Islands & Turkey (7 nights): Naples → Civitavecchia → Mykonos → Kuşadası → Marmaris → Naples. Plus 3-night mini-cruises.
The main difference is that Naples has its cruise terminal in the city centre (Stazione Marittima, 10 minutes on foot from the historic core). Civitavecchia sits 90 km from Rome (1.5 hours by train). Naples has fewer cruise lines, but UNESCO sites are next door (Pompeii, Vesuvius, Amalfi, Capri). Direct flights from Poland, Hungary, and Moldova make logistics especially convenient.
From Naples Airport (NAP) — taxi (~€20, 20 minutes) or the Alibus shuttle to Piazza Municipio next to the port (€5, every 20–30 minutes). From Napoli Centrale station — 10 minutes on foot or one metro stop. From Rome — Frecciarossa high-speed train in 1 h 10 min. Wizz Air and Ryanair fly direct from Poland, Hungary, and Moldova.
Yes. Pompeii and Herculaneum are 30 minutes by Circumvesuviana train from Naples — both UNESCO sites. Capri is 1 hour by catamaran (hourly departures), with day trips at €80–120 per person. The Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, Ravello) is 1.5–2 hours by car. Booking 2–3 nights in Naples before or after the cruise is recommended.
Yes. MSC Cruises offers family cabins for 3–4 guests, the DOREMI Family kids’ club, water parks, and full activity programmes. MSC World Europa is one of MSC’s most modern ships (2022, LNG flagship). Family cabins sell out fastest — book 4–6 months ahead for school holidays.
