We recommend flying in the day before the cruise begins.
Yes, and that is what most people do. Many lines allow individual segments to be booked: you join at one intermediate port, disembark 20–40 days later (sometimes 50–70) at another, and pay only for the chosen stretch.
The category lists more than 25 cruises — full programmes and segments together (snapshot 06.08.2026 — 28). The lowest fare at the snapshot date starts from €6539, and that is a segment rather than a full circumnavigation.
The classic voyage runs 100–120 days and extended itineraries 130–180 days. Certain special projects reach 250–280 days, such as Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise.
Cunard, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Oceania Cruises, MSC Cruises, Costa Cruises, Viking, Silversea and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, along with Royal Caribbean within special projects.
The itinerary crosses more than twenty countries, so requirements are checked country by country in advance. Lines publish the list of documents needed; some countries admit cruise passengers without a separate visa for a short time ashore, or issue permission on arrival. The most demanding are usually the United States, Canada, Australia and a number of countries in Asia and Africa; African calls often require a yellow fever vaccination.
One valid with margin across the whole itinerary and with plenty of blank pages — ideally a clean passport. It is among the things asked about least often, and it is capable of derailing the trip.
Segments run from €3,000–8,000, a full world cruise in a standard cabin usually from €15,000–20,000, and premium or luxury programmes €50,000–100,000 and above. The fare normally covers accommodation, meals, entertainment and calls at most ports.
Twelve to twenty-four months before departure: the best cabins sell early. For a full circumnavigation, at least a year — beyond the cabin, the visas themselves take time to arrange.
