Amir Mansoor, an established Maldivian businessman, and Agnes van Linden, a starting entrepreneur, met in 2008 in Male. Amir had just finished building a new safari boat and was about to sell her off to a surf operator when the two met. As a result, he changed his plans and opted to run the boat together with Agnes. They changed the name into Carpe Diem and started the company Carpe Diem Maldives Pvt. Ltd. with the operation of the Carpe Diem.
Business picked up very quickly and the two decided to build a second boat together, the Carpe Vita which became an upgraded sistership of the Carpe Diem
and has been in operation since 2011.
In 2016 they completed their third boat the Carpe Novo and thus running a fleet of 3 liveaboards.
11 years down the line, they have managed to build up a successful brand, which has been winning awards year after year, one of them being the “Leading liveaboard brand of the year” as well as ending up in the top liveaboards of the world.
In 2017 they started building their own resort which opened in Dec. 2018 as Carpe Diem Beach Resort but since November 2019 managed by another group
as they focus on new projects for the future. Stay tuned!
